Harry Styles named Villain of the Year at the NME Awards 2014

The One Direction singer was given the dubious honour, amazingly voted ahead of UK .

Harry Styles has been voted Villain of the Year at the NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas .

The 19-year-old singer was named the unenviable winner in the category for the second year in a row, despite being nominated alongside the unpopular pair of David Cameron and Vladimir Putin.

Yep - maybe it should've been expected that the One Direction hunk would be deemed more 'worthy' of the prize, even alongside our prime minister and the president of Russia .
The former X Factor runner-up was also up against Wrecking Ball star Miley Cyrus and newly-single Robin Thicke, who upset a fair few people with various incidents over the past year.

Maybe it's that he gets his pick of the ladies , or perhaps his wealth or questionable tattoos?
Regardless, despite some stiff competition it seems NME readers still consider the boy band hunk to be the more villainous than some of the most contentious personalities in the world.

On this basis, it might not be a bad call to put money on Justin Bieber to pick up this 'prize' next year - or maybe Harry will make it a hat-trick with his third award in three years.

Thankfully for Directioners, the group didn't get named Worst Band winners - or is it losers? - this time round, avoiding a repeat of last year's event and passing the torch onto The 1975 after taking home the gong in 2012 and 2013.

One Direction's Niall Horan in Twitter spat with Rugby Player, Mike Phillips

 Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips has challenged One Direction's Niall Horan to train with the Welsh squad after the singer criticised him on Twitter.

Phillips was in a scuffle during Saturday's match against Ireland, which Wales lost 26-3, prompting the Irish singer to tweet that the player looked an "arrogant idiot".
The rugby star replied: "Come down to training in the week big boy. And bring the rest of the Beatles with you."
Horan declined the offer.
The One Direction star had been following his national side during the game in Dublin, tweeting: "C'mon Ireland! Wohooo! Fantastic first half hour".
But following the altercation between Phillips and some of the Ireland team, he added: "Mike Philips is like a child throwing his toys out of the pram! his attitude is terrible, looks like a right arrogant idiot".
The comment was re-tweeted 41,676 times.
Phillips made his reply the following day then followed up with a picture of himself and Irish player Rob Kearney - who was also involved in the scuffle - in a friendly pose, congratulating Kearney on his side's win.
Kearney joined in with a tweet to Horan telling him: "Don't worry - I've got your back."
The spat continued with Horan refusing Phillips's challenge saying he would "only go and watch good teams anyway, so no thanks".
Phillips replied with a picture of himself, asking: "Fair play to you but imagine how big you would be if you looked like this ! @NiallOfficial #£££ #banter".

Harry Styles Claims ONE DIRECTION are "bigger" than The Beatles.

Singer Harry Styles has said One Direction are "bigger" than The Beatles when it comes to fame. He also made it clear the band do not believe their music is in "the same league" as the Fab Four.
"We all sat and watched the film of The Beatles arriving in America. And, to be honest, that really was like us.
"Stepping off the plane, the girls, the madness. It was exactly the same as when we got there - just 50 years earlier," he said in an interview.

Speaking to Top of the Pops Magazine, the musician added: "None of us think we're in the same league as them music-wise. We'd be total fools if we did.
"Fame-wise, it's probably even bigger, but we don't stand anywhere near them in terms of music."

One Direction were the most popular artists when it came to music downloads, streaming and CD sales last year, it was announced last month.

The IFPI, which promotes the international recording industry, named them Global Recording Artists of 2013. The pop stars became the first group in US Billboard chart history to debut at number one with their first three albums. Their third record, Midnight Memories, also topped the Official Albums Chart.

Best Song Ever got almost 200 million views on YouTube and Story of My Life recorded more than 100 million hits. The band's music was also heavily streamed on places like Spotify.
When the award was announced, Niall Horan said: "Incredible news. It's great to have a chart that includes everything from iTunes and record stores, to YouTube and Spotify.
"Again a huge thank you to all of our fans for such an amazing 2013."

The weekend sighting comes as Niall’s two-month romance with the stunning Hungarian Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin is said to have cooled.

While Harry Styles is thousands of miles away, happily celebrating his 20th birthday in sunny California, guess what? Bandmate Niall Horan has been busily hanging out with the heart-throb’s ex-girlfriend – Taylor Swift. Awks.
Niall, 20, (literally) had to hobble down to Taylor’s gig at London’s 02 Arena on Sunday night as he’s on crutches following a knee operation.
But obvs he felt it was important to support the singer as she pranced around in her hot pants on the latest leg of her worldwide Red tour.
TBF, who can blame him she does have a cracking pair of pins.
The Irishman was pictured by frankly shocked Directioners watching the gig side of stage with some pals.
And the weekend sighting comes as Niall’s two-month romance with the stunning Hungarian Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin is said to have cooled, after she relocated from London to Paris to concentrate on her career.
The mind-blowing new friendship has raised eyebrows among fans.

Harry and Taylor are definitely a thing of the past after their two-month relationship ended bitterly during a Caribbean getaway in January 2013. Since then­­ ­relations have been decidedly frosty between the pair.
An insider tells me: “Taylor was happy to sort Niall some Access All Areas passes and even had drinks with him before the show.

“They met through mutual friend

Harry Styles fears that girls are only using him for his fame and cash - according to his cousin

THE cousin of One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles has revealed that he fears girls are only interested in him because he is famous. Ben Selley said that his famous relative always gets dumped and even joked that the 19-year-old doesn't have the guts to end a relationship.

Speaking about the chaotic love life of Harry Styles, Ben said: "It's Harry who keeps getting dumped. He's not a dumper, he's a dumpee. “He's got the biggest heart so the guy wouldn't have the guts to dump a girl, he's too nice. Did Taylor Swift dump him? I'm not saying!"

However, Ben sympathized with the fact that Harry cannot tell if female admirers are genuinely interested or if they are just after his fame and money.
He added: “It's something he struggles with because it's tricky. That's probably why he ends up dating people in the same industry as him.

“Taylor Swift was a big star, as was Harry so they kind of cancelled each other out. Harry's had so many girlfriends. I wouldn't say he's definitely with Kendall.


“I'm not whether she's a friend or a love interest, it's hard to say with Harry.”

The One Direction cutie reportedly spent his first moments as a non-teenager with his girlfriend Kendall Jenner and multiple pals at her father Bruce Jenner's cliffside mansion.

The boybander decided to leave Holmes Chapel in the dust to celebrate in a very intimate way - El Lay style!

Modelicious Kendall surprised her man with an epic and secluded private party on Saturday, with a source close to the situation revealing:
“Kendall was really keen to make Harry’s birthday a memorable one. Her dad Bruce owns an ­incredible cliff top holiday home in California which has amazing views. The secluded house is perfect for them to spend quality time together. It’s also ideal for a party with Kendall’s sisters.”

And even though the 18-year-old half-Dash planned one epic celebration, she apparently feels like it wasn't enough!

Reports have surfaced that Kendall is planning another shindig with Harbear's pal, Radio 1 breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw, in London for later this month.

The source adding:
“Kendall has been talking to Nick about the best venues.”

One Direction are set to earn 'a billion dollars in just 12 months' with next world tour

One Direction have been predicted to become the most successful band in the world with earnings of a billion dollars a year. It is estimated the band will earn the record £611million amount during their upcoming Where We Are tour. 





The 88-date tour will see the boys - Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan - become the first act to perform three consecutive nights at the 95,000-
seat Rose Bowl stadium in California.

A spokesman for the band told the Daily Star: ‘It would be amazing for 1D to climb to the very top of the tour league so early in their career.
‘That would be a phenomenal testament to the loyalty and support of their fans.’

 Music industry insider Mory Brenner added: ‘You have to go back to 1964, when The Beatles led the British Invasion that turned American’s music industry upside down, to find anything close to the following they have.’

Their latest earnings are set to top the £447million record set by U2 for their 360° tour.
They could also beat the £339million earned by The Rolling Stones from their Bigger Bang shows.

One Direction were also the most popular artists last year in terms of music downloads, streaming and CD sales.

She could be set to become royalty if Prince Harry pops the question, but that's not about to stop Cressida Bonas from earning her own money.
The 24-year-old has reportedly landed herself a job in theatre marketing earning £20,000-a-year after giving up her dream career of becoming a professional dancer.
According to The Sun, a royal source said: "Cressie was very upset to give up on dance performance. But she is fiercely independent and doesn't want anything through her connection to Harry.
"She said she knew that if she was ever given major roles she would always wonder whether she had earned it or whether it was given to her because of her status.
